Re: Lady Shanica Lopez - Wild Child of Hardcore! Get Ready for Pleasure Paradize!!!

WHICH IS THE REAL PROBLEM....THE SUPPLY OR DEMAND?

In a place like Singapore, we find ourselves a small minority as a CD/Trans community. But we have everyone from the keyboard warriors who will never muster the courage or resolution to have a physical experience to pornstar material Ladyboys practising the trade.

Yet there seems as though we dun have a big enough community to tap on like any mainstream community. If you look at the pattern of activity since the internet came.... from MRIC/ICQ to whatever social media platform we have.... the CD/Trans community has not really changed so much.

Normally we have a few regular CDs and Admirers chatting them up or simply waiting for the next exhibit hoping that it will satisfy his tastes buds... then once in awhile u will get a Pre-Op Ladyboy who is fully feminsed and living as a woman coming in.... the Queen of England has arrived and everyone will gaze on her for bit. After some time the CDers disappear..... moving on to other things and new batch comes in. It has been the same pattern.

Now most will say.... ok whats the big deal. The big deal is that our community's development does not reciprocate with everything else. In another place... the CD/ Trans community would already have progressed so much that it would become mainstream in everything from relationships to career opportunities to business ventures and economic contributions. There have been movements which have taken this up ... sgbutterfly and sggurls...and more lately the all encompassing flagship powerhouse PinkDot... but we have to ask the question of impact and do we see any actual change in the lives of individuals.

Now after 4 paras... the topic itself... there are always more admirers then CDs or Transpeople out there. Its a given. So its a disproportion in terms of numbers. And though it is never said... the excuse will be there aren't enough CDs and trans to go around. Its never said because if an admirer doesn't like what he sees.... then he will not even engage. Its fair. But does it really reflect the truth?

If we observe closely, the CDs and Trans do a tremendous amount of work to create content on the net for the benefit of all. The admirer in a respectful way is simply a consumer at best and a window shopper at worst. But in terms of effort and work? I rest my case.

Which brings me to the point? Is there really a lack of supply or do we need to change our mindset in regards to how we support the CD/Transgender Community. Its very small, very fragile, very fragmented and very diverse. I would classify it(the community) as "At Risk" under social work criteria. What are you doing to change your mindset so you can contribute to our development. We are people too. Yes a unique kind but still people. Most importantly my fellow CDs and Transpeople, what are you doing yourselves... sucummbing to social norms and living in the shadows in sub existence? Are you building bridges across to each other or are you scratching the walls of insecurity? This is not a call to some delusional activism but a careful reconsideration of your personal and social thought.
